the right carb kit?

rebuilding carbs off a 1980 with carb #vb62 and these are the ones with friction fit low circut jets #35 with 110 mains,just the 80 like this?
owner got me napco kit part# 48-1993(stock#11-h1008)honda cbx1000 79-80,these have the 65 and 98 main jets and plugs for the low circut.
are these the right kits or the for the 81/82s?box says 79 -80,do they have kits with friction fit 35s and 110s?if they do i cant find em?he got these from parts and more and the have no phone # to call just email,makes me leary

i found the thread on pulling out fiction jets,great read/should of listened on the bolt part,first one came right out but i used the tapp to pull it and when i went to unscrew the tapp from jet and it broke off in jet after grinding down around the tapp i was able to grab with plyers and unscrew,after grinding down i have 1/2 the hat area with no damage to the 35 hole.think we are gonna replace these sirius will have some in 3/4 weeks.
im sure im gonna get lots of responces as i see a sea of information on here.GREAT SITE
have rebuilt many carbs and this is my first set of 6.gonna have to get me one of these.i have drag raced motorcycles for 16+ years and still doing it

Looks like you have the pressed-in jets figured out. No 'kit' comes with replacement 110 mains - the '80 VB62 carbs were the only ones with that size. And DO NOT use the rubber plugs. A much better option would be to buy Randakk's complete rebuild kit which includes everything rubber-wise that you need and is of excellent quality. Good value too. Good luck!

The vb62a is a completely different beast than the 60a. The 60 uses transitional main jets, one of which shares air with the slow circuit, and a rubber passage plug that goes between them. The 62 has a single main, hence no need for the passage plug. You can find jets on ebay--just don't buy cheap chinese ones. Even with new Keihin branded it's never a bad idea to size them with a probe of the correct diameter.

Just make sure that you break them down all the way--some folks are tempted to skip a step but it almost always turns out to have been a poor call. For example, if you stop short of pulling the choke rods completely out you'll almost certainly have a nightmare of a time. I've had to rehab more than one set where a previous technician decided to leave the rods inside the #3 and 4 bodies and then bent them during assembly. You'll know when you see that they're binding hopelessly.

I second the note about the randakk kit. I've installed a couple of his master kits lately and the quality is up to snuff with the parts I source independently. His site is a tremendous resource if for no other reason than because the guy's such an articulate writer. You should buy something just to compensate for the time he's spent.

sent the wrong kits back and he ordered the master kit and the air tubes from randakk.gonna replace the fricton fit jets also
