Subject says it all, really. This isn't mine, I found it via the CBX Book group on FB and thought that there might be someone on this forum willing and able to pay (asking price is £4,000.00 or about $5k USD) for a factory original exhaust:

Good thing I'm broke from my engine rebuild, or I'd be sorely tempted...

Re: NOS exhaust available on ebay
Hi,
The right hand exhaust is stamped "HM422 ED", which makes it one of the early "Sankei Replica" exhausts as far as I can tell. The left hand one may be genuine Honda (its stamped HM422).
The box they come in is a CMSNL box (not Honda), which again would suggest they are replicas - CMSNL was one of the distributors of the replicas.
I exchanged messages with the seller and pointed this out - he still believes they are genuine. He's had quite a lot of interest, and his best offer so far was around £2000 about a week ago (somewhat short of his £4000 asking price).
Paul.

No Really, I'll make you a deal, I'm not being facetious, It's time to let some of this stuff go, it's not doing anyone any good packed away in my shop and it's time for a new whole house air conditioner to make the wife happy.Syscrush wrote:If I was Rockefeller, I wouldn't be broke from one engine rebuild.Jeff Bennetts wrote:It's tempting, who are you, Rockefeller?![]()
