Need exhaust specialist
Hi all, I need a recommendation on an exhaust fabricator/specialist who can modify/fix my Bassani exhaust system. I'm in eastern PA, so someone on the east coast would be better, but I'll consider anyone who comes highly recommended. Thanks very much!

Re: Need exhaust specialist
Hi Jeff,
I need to have it put back to its original condition so it doesn't interfere with the brake pedal. See viewtopic.php?f=22&t=9299 for photos (page 2). Looks like someone did some "after aftermarket" welding where the two pipes go into the muffler, creating a "bulge" that sticks out far enough to essentially lock the brake pedal in place. I want someone with skills to fix this thing so I can actually use it.

Yes Bill I remember the thread now, it's certainly worth saving, I would think you could find someone local to save on shipping, maybe ask around some of your speed shops, car or bike.

Re: Need exhaust specialist
Bill: You don't necessarily need an exhaust specialist but rather a skilled welder. I know a few guys in my area here Cleveland/Akron, but shipping will be a pain.
Check out a good body shop. They have to deal with thin sheet metal and know how to address this.
Also, I would strongly recommend, that you make some kind of template from a large piece of cardboard to have exact dimensions for the mounting interface.
Otherwise, after they cut the exhaust apart and put it together again, it may not be how you want it.
Ideally, one would hang the pipe on the bike, tag it in the right position, take it off and weld it complete.

Yes, posting to an old thread but thought the additional photos might help the OP revive the project. Also wanted to play with uploading and posting pics.
Bassani installed on a former daily driver 1981 with sport pegs. Only mod was to trim lower brake pedal arm, underside of foot peg. Agree with a previous comment that a former owner had done some sort of repair to the OP's pipe. On an another CBX with Bassani installation, re-welded a steel brake arm from a CB750 to obtain clearance.

Nice to hear from you, John.
I hope you are still finding some time for riding.

Thanks. It has been a year or several but now back into the CBX and such.
