What are the symptoms of a 79-80 spark unit going bad?
*I know about the oozing, unable to test em, etc, but if all 6 jugs are misfiring after 2500 RPM and worse under load, is this the "Lead" symptom?

They almost always go one at a time. This knocks out just two cylinders. I have seen two go bad on one bike though.

Check your advancer for proper operation. If it isn't advancing, that would affect all 6. I'd also question those red, high tension wires, coils (for cracking), spark plugs and whatever else isn't stock.
IMO, if the spark units are oozing, replace them.
