Before I tackle my own forks I thought I'd better ask what may seem like a simple questions. I have an 80 also with the air caps on top. Do they just screw off or do they come off some other way. Thanks Ross.

I know its probably a simple answer but my manual does not show how these 80 air caps come off. Do they just screw off?ajs350 wrote:Before I tackle my own forks I thought I'd better ask what may seem like a simple questions. I have an 80 also with the air caps on top. Yeah Ross, that's all one casting, and the whole magilla screws off. Do yourself a favor and completely un-weight the front end and wrap that 'tower' in rubber before you do grab it though. I think I wrapped it in a couple of thicknesses of bicycle innertube and put a Big Assed Crescent wrench on it when I did mine.

Thanks Nils. I'll get some rubber and give it a go. Ross
