Cbx z v cb900 Fb (Bol door) alternator

Probably a non- starter (pun intended), but does anyone know if I can use the cb900 alternator in my Cbx z.

Just been looking at the same thing myself...Alternator won't swap, it's a different size, however the brushes are exactly the same, if that helps any. Reg/Rectifier will connect ok wiring wise, but the 900 wires are a bit on the short side.

Yes, I have a cb900 which I am breaking for spares, and rebuilding a cbx at the same time, so I will use what I can from the 900. Any more let me know and I can have a look...

Littleeagle28, I just read somewhere that the eu and us alternators are different, my cbx is us spec, so an eu specced bike might interchange with the cb900...

No, it does not. The CBX alternator is unique, even the smaller EU unit.

Have you not got one at all? if you have, it can be re-wound. I have just ordered one from here as mine was dead:

No, I didn't have one, have since acquired one from fleabay, hopefully it works?
