Cam bearing failure repaired

I had a cam bearing failure on #2 camshaft journal due to an oil starvation problem (my fault). The bearing surface was ruined in the head and cap along with the cam journal itself. With a little thought I repaired it with little cost and never had to remove the cylinder head. Should be a permanent fix.

I used KZ1000 cam bearing shells, grinding the cam journal .0025 oversize, fitting cam bearings with JB Weld, Plastigage, regrinding the cam journal .002 to get proper running clearance.

If anyone has this problem I can help with a series of pictures that I took during the repair. I have not written up a formal repair "manual" but could do so if there is much need. David Hidaka
